Nick Montgomery

The Football Grounds was formed over an idea from a local businessman who had a vision to bring a much needed football venue to Erina.

Nick Montgomery became involved and has been integral in the design of the facility, which has helped transform a once tired old red shed into a state of the art indoor sporting facility. The Football Grounds not only has a top of the range fully synthetic grass pitch with pro play shock pad, but also has a mezzanine viewing area that can be utilised for party hire and sporting seminars.

Nick has a football background of the highest pedigree, having played professionally for 20 years in the English Premier League and A league, Nick arrived in AUSTRALIA in 2012 and immediately helped the Central Coast Mariners to their inaugural A league championship as well as qualifying for the latter stages of the Asian Champions league. Playing alongside local legend and grand final winning skipper John Hutchinson, Nick “Monty” as he is known became a crowd favourite and took over captaincy when Hutchinson retired. Nick is now Head Of Football at the Mariners and a fully qualified UEFA A licensed coach also mentoring players and coaches to give back to the game. His vision for the centre is to help develop young players and also provide a facility for the local community and schools to enjoy competitions and keep a fit, healthy and active lifestyle!
